Woodcote get back to winning ways

WOODCOTE’S Sunday team returned to form with a comfortable six wicket win over local rivals NETTLEBED.

WOODCOTE’S Sunday team returned to form with a comfortable six wicket win over local rivals NETTLEBED.

The visitors won the toss and batted first but got off to a slow start thanks to accurate bowling by Mattimore and Robertson.

After a good display behind the stumps skipper Jonny Clark proceeded to take a diving catch in the outfield, and when Silver had dangerman Osman caught by the returning Scott Allaway the innings petered out to 143.

Woodcote got off to a solid start but lost three quick wickets. Roberts steadied the ship and with Burgess hitting some powerful shots the game was soon in the bag.
