Tickoo and Chib’s knocks not enough

HALF-CENTURIES for Ujjwal Tickoo and Vikas Chib, whose second wicket stand was worth 129, enabled CHECKENDON to amass

HALF-CENTURIES for Ujjwal Tickoo and Vikas Chib, whose second wicket stand was worth 129, enabled CHECKENDON to amass 206-5 declared in only 34 overs at home to SONNING 2nds on Sunday.

Acting captain John Acland-Hood also weighed in with 35 not out despite a brief interruption caused by heavy rain.

Experienced Sonning opener Bill Travers gave his side a chance with a well struck 40 in a first wicket partnership of 70.

Dave McLoughlin continued the attack with 47 not out but Tony Breakspear applied the brakes during an impressive 11 over spell. Conditions favoured attacking cricket but neither side was able to secure the win.
