HIGH scoring was once again the order of the day at CHECKENDON on Sunday as the home team struck 276-6 in a 40 over match against TWYFORD.
Vikas Chib set the tone with a rapid 80 which included a six and 15 fours. This was more than matched by Jim Warren’s hard hitting century with three sixes and 13 fours as well as some sprightly running between the wickets.
The visitors soon fell behind the asking rate in reply as debutant seamer Charan picked up three wickets.
Checkendon then turned to four different varieties of spin to finish the job, leaving Twyford on 188-8 after their 40 overs were completed.
