NETTLEBED ran out comfortable winners away at Swyncombe on Sunday in their last game
NETTLEBED ran out comfortable winners away at Swyncombe on Sunday in their last game of the season.
In a 35 over game Nettlebed were asked to bat first.
Rob Simmons and 13-year-old Edward Bruun put on 56 for the first wicket until Bruun departed.
Matt Vines went cheaply to a ball that kept low and Simmons retired on 59 to leave an excellent father and son partnership between Daniel and Andy Watts to push the score along. Dave Buxton then hit a quickfire 22 to take his side up to 195.
In reply, Swyncome found runs hard to come by as Lee Vockins and Jack Russell bowled tightly aided by some excellent catches from Tom Edwards and Ben Bruun and wickets started to fall.
Owen Simmons continued his excellent season with three wickets and Daniel Watts picked up the final two wickets as Nettlebed ran out winners by 118 runs.
