Crazies Hill crush Littlewick Green

CRAZIES HILL produced their best performance of the season to cruise to a comfortable win at LITTLEWICK GREEN on Sunday.

Having won the toss, Crazies elected to bat and began carefully against some accurate bowling from Weston. However, with both Harry Swift and Noyes looking in good touch, runs began to flow easily.

With both batsmen passing their half centuries, they looked to accelerate further. In the process, Swift holed out to deep mid-wicket for 59 and then Noyes was bowled by Littlewick skipper Hurley for 60 in quick succession.

The foundations had been laid by the openers and this allowed the Crazies middle order to play with freedom, maintaining the scoring at a run a ball. With the total passing 200, Hurley removed both Toby Swift and Sam Montgomery in the same over leaving Doug Montgomery and Scholfield to see Crazies to 242-4 off their 35 overs.

Faced with the task of scoring at seven an over to win, Littlewick began in the worst possible way as first Charlie Montgomery and then Searle ripped out the heart of their innings to leave them 31-5 after 10 overs.

Dries looked comfortable and, with the stoic support of Richardson, began to lead a Littlewick fight back as Montgomery tired towards the end of his spell.

Simpson began to find a nagging length, causing Richardson to sky one to the keeper. When Dries was given out lbw to Margrie soon after, Littlewick soon crumbled to defeat.
