Chard in fine form for Kites

THE newly-formed Sunday side of PEPPARD STOKE ROW KITES got off to a winning start against local rivals CHECKENDON as they ran out 43 run winners.

Batting first the home put on 218-3 with G Legg top scoring scoring with 62. There were also useful knocks from opener P Hennessey, W Lamprecht and W Legg. S Reddy took 3-30 for the visitors.

In reply Checkendon got off to a good start with opening S Reddy putting on 40. However, once he was out the visitors collapsed to 110-9 and the game looked over. However, Crawford dug in and hit 61 before number 11 Wickens was out for 4.

Mick Chard returned the best bowling figures for the Kites, taking 5-31.
