A 29-BALL half century from debutant, Fayyaz Kayani almost gave HURLEY an unlikely victory against PRESTCOLD at Shepherds Lane on Sunday.
The visitors batted first with Scott Taylor and Dave Walton bowling a few miserly overs before Debois decided to take the attack to the bowlers only to be beaten in the flight by Dave Walton and failing to get his foot behind the crease before Mike Walton removed the bails.
Taylor produced a shooter to remove Will Marsh for 10 as the visitors slumped to 28-2 after nine overs. Matt Rosier and Stu Matthews got the innings back on track with a partnership of 64 for the third wicket before the introduction of Fayyaz Kayani from the Lane end precipitated a mini collapse.
Fayyaz Kayani’s first four overs picked up the wickets of Rosier, caught behind, and Matthews, bowled off his pads, while only conceding two runs.
With Shoaib Kayani bowling Luke Rosier, 9-2 became 95-5. Richard Fletcher was the other main contributor for Prestcold as they were bowled out for 167 with Trevor Balchin mopping up the tail.
