HENLEY U13s cruised into the quarter-finals of the Berkshire Cup against a valiant Reading side.
Having won the toss, Reading, who have an outstanding talent in Simeon Farnworth, elected to bat.
From ball one Farnworth made his intentions clear, dispatching Henley’s premier bowler, Batchelor, for a four through mid-wicket and going on to make a sparkling 31 not out.
Reading had reached 42 without loss after just five overs. However, following Farnworth’s retirement, Henley’s bowlers regained control with impressive spells from Jordan (1 for 14 from 3.3 overs) and from Asghar with 3 for 7 from 3 overs.
A great fielding effort helped restrict Reading to just 98 all out off 19.3 overs.
