WOODCOTE snatched an unlikely 21-run win at home to WALTHAM ST LAWRENCE on Sunday.
Put into bat, the top order was decimated by A Ali who took five wickets as the home team slumped to 60-6.
The removal of Ali from the attack provided more run-scoring opportunities as Olly Elston-Green and Mark Pearson saw Woodcote pass the 100 mark and reach a competitive total before tea.
Waltham struggled from the start against a strong Woodcote bowling attack but a decent second wicket partnership appeared to put them in contention. JP Brouard entered the attack to rip through the lower order and victory became a formality. Brouard received good support from Paul Knox, Mike Stroker and JP’s 15-year-old brother Keanu Brouard.
