HENLEY U13s reached the final of the Berkshire Cup following a tense semi-final at THATCHAM TOWN U13s.
With several players missing, Henley needed to be at their very best to overcome a Thatcham side which included a Somerset county all-rounder Lewis.
Henley’s decision to field, having won the toss, looked questionable when Thatcham reached 48-2 off eight overs. However, Stone (four overs, 3-8) once again stepped up with another fantastic spell of spin bowling. When he managed to remove danger man Lewis, who had made 24, the match was left perfectly poised.
Following impressive spells from Connell (1-5) and Bradbury (2-9), Henley began to gain the initiative and put Thatcham on the back foot.
The accurate and restrictive bowling was backed up with another fine fielding display which included four catches, one of which was a full length diving effort from the brilliant Theodorou.
