Opener Imlay hits ton as Harpsden triumph
HARPSDEN ran out winners against WHITE WALTHAM by 181 runs on Sunday.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first on a hard pitch. Openers Adam Birkett and Sam Imlay took the score to 159 after 27 overs. Imlay retired on 101 not out following an aggressive century including 14 fours and a six.

Despite the loss of a few quick wickets the hosts set a challenging total of 249 with Birkett making 85 before being out caught. In reply to Harpsden’s total White Waltham started cautiously with Ed Birkett and Tom Ham bowling tightly.

The White Waltham batsmen struggled to get going, with only Max Ring showing any resistance. Huw Thomas picked up three wickets with his off-spin and James Brooks picked up four with his occasional leg-spin. Alex Gower-Jackson took a good catch on debut and Zac Jones snaffled a sharped one handed chance in the gully for Harpsden. The hosts ended as comfortable winners by 181 runs.
