HARPSDEN defeated HENLEY ASTROS on Sunday in a match that saw Sam Imlay top score for the hosts with a knock of 58.
Having won the toss Harpsden elected to bat first. Proceedings started badly for the hosts as they lost three quick wickets with good opening spells from J Cox and R Woolfrey.
J Wright was the rock at the top of the order but when he fell for 30, Harpsden were 58-4. Imlay continued his fine form with a crucial partnership with watchful Will Stevens which brought the home side to 187 off their 40 overs.
In reply Henley Astros reached 50 for the loss of one wicket with Rowan Austin the main man at the top of the order.
E Foster batted with style but he could not find another batsman who would spend enough time at the crease. The score of 50-1 became 83-8 thanks to tight bowling from J Paice and R Birkett.
