First win of season lifts Hurley off foot of table
HURLEY recorded their first win of the season at PENN AND TYLERS GREEN 2nds to move off the foot of Division 2.
The visitors won the toss and asked Penn to bat. Ross Brown was rewarded for his fine opening spell with the early wicket of Bentley before Naeem Akhtar removed Powell to leave the home side on the back foot at 10-2.
Morris survived an early offering to slip which proved costly as he anchored the innings with an unbeaten century.
Dowding joined Morris for a stand of 59, but with Akhtar and Brown bowling well, the home side declined to 124-6.
Morris and Judge doubled the score on a compact ground. Time was called by the home skipper after 48 overs with the hosts posting 248-6.
