HIGHMOOR ran out winners by 126 runs against visitors EWELME on Sunday.
The visiting captain won the toss and decided to insert Highmoor on what looked like a flat wicket. Highmoor’s openers Rizmy and Shamil got them off to a flying start, reaching 50 runs off the first six overs. Rismy was caught shortly after off Hall’s bowling.
Shamil and Faz continued to push on hitting the ball to all parts of the ground, frustrating the Ewelme bowlers.
Ewelme then took two quick wickets of Faz and O Wells who looked comfortable at the wicket until being caught in the deep off the bowling of Monk.
Shamil remained in good form reaching 100 with a hook shot for four. L Wells supported Shamil later on in the hosts’ innings, scoring consecutive boundaries and finishing unbeaten for 22. Highmoor declared on 251 as Shamil carried his bat throughout the innings scoring an impressive 114 not out.
