Harpsden take the honours in tense finish

A TENSE finish saw hosts HARPSDEN run out winners at home to KENSINGTON last Saturday.

On a damp pitch due to overnight rain the hosts put the visitors into bat.

Kensington started well reaching 50 without loss but when A Shankar was trapped lbw for 29, this sparked a collapse.

Lots of the Kensington batsmen got themselves in but could not go on to make it count with J Singh the only man to do so.

Singh batted well seeing off the openers and attacking the spinners which eventually led to his downfall as I Whittaker bowled with real guile to make Singh one of his three wickets. Kensington eventually finished on a below-par 160 off their 40 overs.
