A 40-OVER contest at Shepherds Lane saw visitors PEPPARD record a comfortable victory built on the back of an opening partnership of 163 between Tim Vines and Jake Leach.
Having won the toss and opting to bat first, the visitors wasted no time in setting about the bowling of HURLEY’S Ben Fraser who struggled to find a consistent line and length.
At the other end Steve Taylor conceded only 29 runs from his eight overs. Vines made the most of an early let-off, dropped by David Morgans behind the stumps off Ben Fraser, before smashing a Trevor Balchin delivery to Jordan Baradell-Pither at square leg.
Soon after Dan Bacon pulled Dave Walton to Matt Hampton who clung on to the catch at leg gully. Leach continued piling on the runs, adding 135 for the third wicket with Alfie Jordan.
Hampton brought himself on to bowl the final over and picked up the wicket of Leach with his fifth delivery which he followed up with a wide before bowling Sadler with the last ball of the innings.
