Hurley’s great escape is brought to a halt

HURLEY’S recent impressive charge away from relegation was interrupted at BRAYWOOD as they had to settle for an obdurate draw after conceding a challenging 246.

The home side’s innings was built around an imposing unbeaten century from Jathavedan after making useful inroads as Jonathan Langlands (2-56) sent back Singh and Ahmed early doors.

Vijayan (33) and Jathavedan then set about the bowling to lay the foundation for a big score.

Vik Bhagwani (2-34) chipped away at the batting after skipper Akhtar had broken this destructive partnership.

Braywood used their 52 overs on what is a compact ground.
