HOSTS SONNING eased to a comfortable victory on Sunday against PEPPARD STOKE ROW KITES.
The visitors, having won the toss and electing to bat, promptly threw away the opportunity of posting a challenging total on Sonning’s new pitch.
Leach square-drove his second ball to point, Nicholson nicked-off his second ball behind and Gozzard also barely troubled the scorers as the Peppard Stoke Row Kites lost three wickets in 12 balls.
Things were soon to get worse as Will Legg mis-timed a pull and was well-caught by Jamil at midwicket. Sharma was next to return to the pavilion in single figures, leaving the visitors at a precarious 26-5.
Sonning elected to rotate the bowling, using 11 bowlers in all. Gary Legg and Rich Ashton were able to rebuild from the earlier ruins, putting on a 68-run partnership.
