AN undefeated century by Jonny Clark enabled hosts WOODCOTE to close their season in sparkling fashion, gaining an unlikely seven-wicket win over WHITE WALTHAM.
Few would have predicted this outcome as the visiting openers Chapman and Scarborough put on 90 for the first wicket.
However, the Woodcote bowlers stuck to their task and the run rate was slowed considerably. Sean Bell bowled well to take 3-49 and he received good support from Jonny Aldridge and Jonny Clark whose seven overs cost only 18 runs for one wicket.
The Woodcote innings started badly as they lost three quick wickets before Clark arrived at the wicket and with good support from Dave Ravenhill proceeded to give a masterclass in batting with shots to all corners of the ground.
These two batsmen put on 120 for the fourth wicket before Clark retired to allow Adam Burgess to hit the runs needed for victory. e_SClBWHITE WALTHAM
