Thornton is century hero for Turville Park

CHECKENDON openers John Acland-Hood and Jim Warren put on 131 in just 18 overs against visitors TURVILLE PARK on Saturday.

Both fell to fine catches by Charlie Beardall as Turville fought back but the home side declared on 227-8 in 40 overs.

Ollie Thornton once again showed his liking for the Checkendon ground with a second century in this fixture, hitting 106 in an innings that included two sixes and 10 fours.

Charlie Beardall was undefeated on 59 after James Hunt had made 45 as the the visitors reached their target in 30.3 overs.
