FORMER England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has come in for a lot of criticism over his new autobiography.
But perhaps none has been as cutting as that from former England captain Graham Gooch.
He used the occasion of Henley Cricket Club’s annual sportsman’s dinner on Friday night to belittle Pietersen’s claims about a bullying culture inside the England dressing room.
Gooch, who was the batting coach of the national side for five years from 2009, said the South African-born batsman’s recollections were imagined.
He told more than 100 diners at Phyllis Court Club: “I went to a lunch today and there was a copy of the Kevin Pietersen book. I like colouring books.”
