HENLEY cricketers featured prominently when BERKSHIRE were beaten by 58 runs by WILTSHIRE in their Marlborough Cup challenge match at South Wilts CC on Sunday.
The host county won the toss and elected to bat. They lost their first two wickets for 10 runs and were 90-4 with 23 of their 50 overs completed.
But then skipper Michael Coles accelerated the scoring with an unbeaten 70 off 54 balls, which included three sixes and five fours.
Henry Langford gave good support with 61, while Neil Clark made 46 as Wiltshire closed on 257-7. Robbie Williams took 2-48 on his debut.
Berkshire, skippered by Henley’s David Barnes, needed to get off to a good start, but in the first over they lost Michael Roberts, who was bowled by Henley colleague Tahir Afridi for a duck.
