PETER HARLAND-JONES ran out senior championship winner at Hennerton Golf Club on Sunday.
The competition for over-50s was competed for by 47 men and women in gusty conditions that made scoring difficult.
Harland-Jones triumphed with a score of gross 81, net 62. This was one shot clear of the rest of the field and he also received a one shot cut in his handicap from 19 to 18.
John Luxton was runner-up with a net 63 score off his 11 handicap to beat George Pugsley, who finished third on countback from Tony Little on net 64.
In the ladies’ senior championship, vice captain Ruth Cassidy came out on top with a net 63. Cassidy’s handicap was subsequently cut by one shot to 22 as she won her first title. Pamela Graddon finished runner-up, four shots behind on net 67, with Carolyn John taking third place, one shot behind on net 68.
