Hurley in T20 struggle as trophy slips away

HURLEY took part in the second annual T20 tournament at Amersham Hill against the hosts and Chenies and Latimer.

After Chenies had bowled out Amersham Hill for 54 and chased down the runs in 10 overs it was Hurley’s turn to take on the hosts.

Batting first, Hurley got off to a flying start with an opening partnership of 63 between Shoaib Kayani (26) and Jonathan Langlands (52).

Forty-two runs came from the six over power play to set up a platform for a large total.

When Kayani fell in the 10th over he was replaced by the big hitting Fayyaz who blasted 28 from 15 deliveries to keep the run rate going in the right direction, with 51 runs added in five overs for the second wicket.
