Cricket club unveils new weather vane on pavilion

A NEW weather vane has been installed at Wargrave Cricket Club.

The metal piece, which is based on the Old Father Time vane at Lord’s, has been fixed to the roof of the club’s pavilion in the recreation ground in Recreation Road.

It was donated by club vice-president Phil Drew, who had the idea after watching a cricket match at Lord’s.

He had the vane made by a blacksmith in Dorset and personalised the design to include the club’s initials.

Wargrave Parish Council, which owns the pavilion, granted the club permission to attach the vane.
