HURLEY Lions U13s clocked up a 27-run win over spirited Kidmore End U13s.
Hurley were put into bat on a low, slow wicket at Kidmore End but openers Graham Hill and Skelton played with great judgement — brutally dispatching the bad balls to every corner whilst watching the good balls carefully on to a straight bat.
Hill retired on 33 from 23 balls, and with Graham and Skelton out for nine apiece, it was down to Calliss and Patrick to pick up the baton.
At 65-2 off nine overs things were going swimmingly until Kidmore took the pace off the ball.
The two Hurley lefties were frustrated by the slow pace and leg stump line, as Kidmore reduced the scoring to 12 off four overs.
