BBC out of tune as Crazies Hill cruise to victory

CRAZIES HILL cruised to an emphatic eight-wicket victory at BBC CAVERSHAM on Sunday.

Having won the toss and electing to field, Crazies Hill got off to a flying start as Searle had Salmon caught in the gully by Margrie in the opening over. When the same bowler had Randall caught by Reiss Simpson in his following over and Anthony trapped BBC skipper Castle lbw, the hosts were in deep trouble at 9-3 in the sixth over.

Williams and Kendall were forced to rebuild the BBC innings and, in the face of some accurate bowling coupled with the slow pace of the pitch, they found this difficult to do with any fluidity.

Gradually the score took on a more respectable look until Margrie and Scholfield combined to rip out the host’s middle order taking them from 33-2 to 39-5 in the space of three overs.

Despite a brief fight back from Townend and a couple of lusty blows from G Smith, Margrie’s left arm spin continued to bamboozle the hosts as he took two further wickets and with Hanton removing Quinn cheaply, the BBC innings ended with a run out on 64.
