AS the heavy morning rain took its toll across the region, thirteen matches were cancelled but the Premier Division WOODCOTE’S match at WELFORD PARK survived with the visitors recording a six wicket victory.
Woodcote captain Paul Knox, playing his first match of the season, was in sparkling form with the bat as he hit 118 not out.
Batting first Welford Park made a good start reaching 134-3 before losing their last seven wickets for less than 40. Salaria, making his debut for Welford, batted well with good support from Bayliss, the pair putting on 84 for the third wicket.
Unfortunately for the home side, spinner Zaheer was in fine form for Woodcote helping himself to 4-29.
