Walker’s nine-wicket haul helpsWargrave move top of the table
KIDMORE END moved off the foot of Division 1 after having the better of a draw with HIGH WYCOMBE 2nds at Gallowstree Common.
Having won the toss the hosts decided to bat first. The opening pair of Guy Ashby and Joe Waldron put on 35 for the first wicket before Waldron was caught.
Ashby was batting well, driving the ball both in the air and along the ground but wickets kept falling at the other end and the middle order only contributed 20 runs.
Ashby found support from Gregor Hearne, who struck several boundaries, before he was eventually caught for 73, his highest league score.
Youngster Zac Leonard batted with confidence and with Hearne the two ran quickly between the wickets. Frost would later join Leonard at the crease, but he played second fiddle to the 14-year-old, who swept one of the spin bowlers for six on to the pavilion roof. The hosts were eventually all out for 203.
