THE heavy rain and storms on Saturday forced many of the local cricket matches to be abandoned or cancelled.
Of the matches played, KIDMORE END were on the losing end of a draw at BEACONSFIELD in Division 1 in a rain-affected match which concluded at 8.30pm.
Having won the toss Kidmore End chose to bowl and after seven overs the score was 40-0 as both sides left the field due to a deluge of rain.
The game was then reduced from 37 to 33 overs. This meant when play resumed at 4.15pm the batsmen would bat aggressively.
With short boundaries in three directions keeping the scoring down was difficult. Defending the boundaries was made harder following an injury to Guy Ashby.
