Shepherds Lane visitors on top

HURLEY fielded a development side with five U15s, four of whom were making their senior debut, against HARROW WAYFARERS at Shepherds Lane on Sunday.

A finish ensued with the visitors hanging on for a hard fought victory against the young Hurley side.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first in a 40 overs per side match. Scott Taylor and Ben Pool kept the flow of runs in check, restricting the opening pair of Ali Jeal and George Kinsman to 37 from the first 10 overs.

Ben Fraser replaced Taylor and immediately made the breakthrough, having Kinsman caught at fine-leg by Ben Poole.

Ben Lederman proved a handful for the Wayfarers batsmen, picking up 3-21 from his six over spell to help reduce the visitors to 68-4 after 18 overs.
