A NEW-LOOK HURLEY side containing two debutants went down by 38 runs to SONNING 2nds at Shepherds Lane on Sunday.
Matt Hampton won the toss and put the visitors into bat. Scott Taylor and Dave Walton opened the attack for Hurley with Travers out first, lbw to Walton in the sixth over.
A solid second wicket partnership between Andy Fitton and Ray Nichols was ended by debutant Jordan Barradell who trapped Fitton lbw. Nicholls and Bhamidipati continued to push the score along but a tight spell of leg-spin by Steve Taylor helped to keep the run rate in check.
Bhamidipati fell to Taylor at cover where Ramesh Sistla held on to a simple catch. The Sonning middle order all added runs but regular wickets kept the score down to 189-7.
The Hurley reply suffered an early setback when Sistla skied Shaker to Ray with the score on nine. Alan Morgans could also only manage single figures before falling to Shaker at 31-2.
