VISITORS NETTLEBED defeated WOODCOTE by 29 runs in an entertaining match on Sunday.
Woodcote skipper Jonny Aldridge elected to field. The first three visiting batsmen took the score beyond the 100 mark before Ryan Latter hit 74 to get his side to post 203-7 at tea.
The Woodcote bowlers stuck to their task, but on a good batting track it was a thankless task. James Worsfold and Keanu Brouard were the pick of the home bowlers.
After tea a second-wicket partnership between Crawford Anderson and Ryan Lennard provided some hope and a half-century from Aldridge ensured that the result would not be a rout, as the hosts came up short on 174-6.
