A DOWNPOUR at lunchtime resulted in all the Premier Division matches being either cancelled or abandoned on Saturday.
A diving one-handed slip catch by FARLEY HILL’S Trevor Clacey turned their Division 1 game against CHECKENDON.
The visitors were going well at 90-2 after 15 overs when Johan Vorster’s extra pace took the edge of John Acland-Hood’s bat after he had reached another half century.
Vorster finished with 3-12 off seven overs as Checkendon were bowled out for 153.
Ross Ditchburn made 53 for the home side as Checkendon’s catching let them down but Farley Hill were 107-6 and struggling against Varun Kaushal’s left arm spin when Vorster came in to hit a rapid 30 not out which settled the outcome with four overs to spare.
