Hopper’s swing bowling helps keep visitors top of the table

PEPPARD STOKE ROW produced a clinical performance to thrash BCS GROSVENOR by nine wickets and cement their position at the head of the Premier Division.

Roy Hayden made an early breakthrough when he had Hasnein Akram snaffled at first slip by Sam Fletcher —the first of four catches for the fielder.

The same combination accounted for Manish Kapoor and when South African Matt Hopper removed Jasmeet Singh, the hosts were on the ropes.

Former Henley star Hamid Sana showed his class with a well-constructed half century, but Hopper ripped through the hosts’ middle order in a spell of swing bowling to hammer home the visitors’ advantage.

Some lusty late blows from the tail end helped Grosvenor reach 139 all out as Hopper and Hayden led an impressive bowling and fielding display.
