HENLEY, winners of this season’s Home Counties Premier League Twenty20 competition, lost out in the area finals at Swardeston on Sunday.
In their area semi-final Wanstead and Snaresbrook put on 124.
In reply Henley got off to a slow start and failed to capitalise on the power play. Barnes and Ashraf made up a lot of ground but Henley could not get over the line and lost a flurry of wickets towards the end as they finished just one run short on 123.
Wanstead and Snaresbrook went on to beat hosts Swardeston in the area final after defeating North Middlesex by 10 wickets earlier in the day.
