Highmoor have edge in derby encounter

MATT SKILLETER hit 86 as visitors GREYS GREEN were held to a draw by BBC CAVERSHAM on Saturday.

BBC Caversham won the toss and asked Greys Green to bat. Early signs were good for BBC Caversham as their bowlers used the new ball well.

Dennis was run out and Pinhol feathered an edge behind to leave Greys rocking on 6-2. Shafqat and Skilleter slowly rebuilt the inning with the home side giving little or nothing loose for the visitors to work with.

As the shine on the new ball faded so did the swing and lateral movement and the batsmen started to increase the rate of scoring. Shafqat fell for 31 and with 25 minutes remaining Greys risked wickets in exchange for quick runs. Skilleter fell for 86 with the score on 128 and Greys closed their inning on 149-8.

The home side’s innings took on a similar shape to that of the visitors with two early wickets falling to Ahmed who bowled with pace and aggression.
