HARPSDEN beat REGALS with 12 balls to spare in a close 35 over game on Saturday.
Visitors Regals won the toss and chose to bat first, but lost Vinod and Suchen early thanks to good bowling from Alex Bradley and James Paice.
Mohail (69) and Raman (30) rebuilt the Regals innings with Raman taking the attack to the Harpsden bowlers and Mohail settling in for the long haul.
Zac Jones took two quick wickets to ensure the visitors didn’t get away. Ranveer (25 not out) supported Mohail well as Regals scored 66 runs in the final 10 overs to reach 183-7 from their 35 overs.
In reply Mark Cooper (31) and Sam Imlay (19) led Harpsden to 72-1 from the first 10 overs. However, wickets fell at regular intervals and the scoring rate was lowered thanks to the leg spin of Raman and the accurate medium pace of Ranveer.
