Berkshire match cancelled

JAMES MORRIS will have to wait a little longer before leading out the Berkshire county cricket for the first time.

JAMES MORRIS will have to wait a little longer before leading out the Berkshire county cricket for the first time.

His first match since being appointed skipper should have been the annual Marlborough Cup match against Wiltshire at Wokingham CC last Sunday, but it was cancelled on Friday due to the outfield being saturated.

It was a big disappointment for Wokingham as this would have been the first time they had staged a men’s county game at Sadlers End.

Berkshire are due to play a friendly away to Bedfordshire on April 28 before opening their MCCA Trophy campaign against Dorset at Burham on May 5.
