GUY ASHBY top scored for KIDMORE END as they ran out comfortable winners away to MARLOW PARK last Saturday.

Having to start late due to wet weather Kidmore End skipper Jeff Sheldon lost the toss and his side took the field.

Opener Ben Berryman bowled well in testing conditions supported by the left-arm pace of Guy Ashby. Berryman struck first with Khan holding out to Lawson at deep point.

N Janed batted well but appeared to be caught behind by Blackmore off the medium pace of Lawson but the umpire failed to give the dismissal.

With the game now reduced to 32 overs a side due to more rain James Frost was introduced to the attack and he finished with figures of 2—24 being helped by another fine catch from Guy Ashby.

In reply Joe Waldron (70) and Ashby (88) made batting look easy. Ashby reached his 50 first sweeping and cutting with aplomb while Waldron was his normal dominant self with anything just back of a length racing to boundary line.

At 159—0 it looked like it was going to be a 10-wicket win. However Ashby was caught off a full toss and Waldron soon followed after a lapse in concentration.

The pairing of Chris Pigden and David New saw Kidmore home with ease with New winning the game with a six.

KIDMORE END’S pre-season winning run came to an end at WOKINGHAM on Sunday.

Pigden top scored for the visitors with a knock of 38 as Kidmore End ended their innings on 179—7.

In reply Wokingham eased to victory with the loss of just four wickets with A Ulhaq taking 2—34 for the visitors.
