WOODCOTE lost out in their first match of the season at home to PANGBOURNE on Sunday.

In a high-scoring derby the visitors triumphed in the penultimate over to win by seven wickets.

Woodcote were put in to bat and got off to a good start with a 50 partnership between Gordon and Anderson. When Gordon departed Simon Fuller (61) came to the wicket and blasted a half-century and the momentum of the innings was continued by Mike Stroker.

The final score of 221 seemed like a good total but after losing an early wicket Pangbourne rarely looked troubled as Suneet, Amalica and Faz took them past the winning post on 223—3.
