Knight in fine form

TURVILLE PARK and visitors GREYS GREEN battled out a draw last Saturday in wet and windy conditions.

TURVILLE PARK and visitors GREYS GREEN battled out a draw last Saturday in wet and windy conditions.

The hosts lost the toss and were put into bat. A shaky start was stabilised by Sam Beardall and Tim Wade who waited patiently for a rare bad ball to put on a partnership of 88.

Greys Green’s Mohamed Shafqat bowled 22 overs unchanged to finish with figures of 5-58.

Turville posted a score of 185-9 off 43 overs which included a late cameo of 25 from Nick Henry.

The visitors had the worst of the weather conditions in their reply, as players were forced off the field on four separate occasions.

Despite the start-stop nature of their innings James Knight put on 90 not out while opener Shafqat scored 22. The match finished a draw as Greys Green ended on 149-3 with Neil Runkel taking 3-36.
