Brown impresses with the ball at first girls’ festival

HENLEY Cricket Club played host to 25 girls in the first of the Berkshire League U12 girls’ festivals of the season.
This is the first season Henley has entered the competition and their two teams were up against two from Maidenhead and Bray.
The six sides competed in six-a-side matches which saw the sides win three games each.
Highlights included six wickets for Madeleine Brown, three for Romilly Hayward and two for Sophie Baker. On the batting front Mia Rogers hit 103 runs throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile Henley Girls U12s took part in their second Berkshire League festival of the season on Sunday and continued their good form by winning two out of three matches. Henley were victorious against Reading and Maidenhead and Bray Roes but missed out on a third win against Maidenhead and Bray Does.
There were six wickets for Madeleine Brown and two for Romilly Hayward including a wicket maiden over.
There were also nine good catches throughout the tournament including three each for Mia Rogers and Bronte Pye.
Top batting scores were Mia Rogers with 38, Madeleine Brown with 20 and Bronte Pye with 13.
Henley have two more tournaments to go before play-off places are decided and are currently second in the league, just two points behind leaders Maidenhead and Bray Does.
