Fuller piles on the runs as Woodcote claim derby bragging rights

HOSTS WOODCOTE ran out winners by three wickets with an over to spare against WHITCHURCH on Sunday.

HOSTS WOODCOTE ran out winners by three wickets with an over to spare against WHITCHURCH on Sunday.

Asked to bat first, Whitchurch lost early wickets to the pace and accuracy of Mark Pearson and Scott Harris.

A good stand between Shanahan and Neeson steadied the innings but with only four batsmen reaching double figures the Whitchurch total looked to give Woodcote the opportunity of a comfortable win.

Anderson and Fuller put on 43 for the first wicket before a middle order collapse gave Whitchurch hope. However, Fuller went on to score 61 which allowed Ian Harris and vice-captain Mark Pearson to play patiently in a stand worth 36 runs, to see Woodcote home.
