A CENTURY from Mike Cann set up SONNING COMMON’S first victory of the season at WHITCHURCH on Sunday.
The visitors batted first in a 35-over game and soon took control with an opening stand of 61 between Cann and Howard Cook.
Cann played cultured shots to all parts of the ground until he was finally out for 102, having placed Sonning Common in a strong position.
The innings was finished off in style with a quick unbeaten partnership of 42 between Steve McGrath and Chris Gallimore.
In reply Whitchurch never threatened the 201 target and found it difficult to score freely against the accurate Sonning Common bowlers.
Only Mutepfa threatened, but once he was run out by Duncan Mee, the result was never in doubt.
Chris Gallimore picked up a five-wicket haul as the home side were dismissed for 82.
