Harpsden’s Paice too much for Battersea Badgers

HARPSDEN eased to victory against BATTERSEA BADGERS on Saturday.

HARPSDEN eased to victory against BATTERSEA BADGERS on Saturday.

Batting first, Harpsden set an imposing 256-8 from their 40 overs. Debutant Ben Wilson impressed with his knock of 36 all of which came by way of boundaries.

Despite the imposing total set, the Badgers set about their task with no shortage of application in the face of an accurate spell of bowling from Alex Bradley.

This was coupled by a quick spell from Toby Stevens who beat the bat on numerous occasions early on. Stevens stuck to his task well and was rewarded when he found the edge of Moone’s bat with the catch being taken by Zac Jones. This was followed by Stevens clean bowling the new batsmen.

Matt Hayward took over at this point and destroyed the middle order taking four wickets for just nine runs. The tail was polished off by Paice who took three wickets.
