Dalrymple shines for Wildcats

HENLEY WILDCATS U13s eased to victory against ROYAL ASCOT U13s last Sunday at Shiplake College.

HENLEY WILDCATS U13s eased to victory against ROYAL ASCOT U13s last Sunday at Shiplake College.

Henley got off to a good start as Batchelor cleaned bowled the Ascot opener for just three runs. Ascot’s two county batsmen stepped up the pace and it was only an unplayable delivery from Ruffle that stopped Chapman in his tracks.

Fine spells from Watson-Smyth, Redley and Dalrymple combined with good fielding restricted Ascot to 99 from their allotted 20 overs.

In response, Dalrymple hit an unbeaten 31 (retired) and was ably assisted by Nearchou who, having taken a blow in the midriff, battled on to score 21.

A couple of quick wickets followed before Stone, who hit 10 off the last four balls, took control and, along with McNeill, saw Henley run out winners.

A HENLEY U13 combined side progressed to the last 16 of the Berkshire Cup after overcoming KIDMORE END U13s.

Having been put into bat Dalrymple top scored with his third consecutive 31 not out and provided the perfect platform for Henley to post a total of 133.

Henley’s bowlers and fielders impressed with Maskell, Batchelor and Asghar all shining to restrict Kidmore End to 56 all out in 20 overs.

Henley will now face Sonning U13s in the next round.
