KIDMORE END ran out winners by 10 runs with an over to spare at BOYNE HILL in a 40 overs

KIDMORE END ran out winners by 10 runs with an over to spare at BOYNE HILL in a 40 overs Sunday League clash.

The match started well for Boyne Hill as Mark New was trapped in the opening over lbw by Johnson.

Paul Lawson and Joe Dixon added 88 for the second wicket before Lawson was out. Soon after Dixon was run out for 80. After 28 overs Kidmore were 147-4. They lost their next four batsmen for 50 runs in 10 overs and closed their 40 overs on 201-8.

In reply Guy Ashby took an early wicket thanks to a good catch by Mark New. Skipper Ben Berryman brought Dan Spurle into the attack and he was rewarded for his efforts with a wicket.

At the other end Berryman had Pike caught in the gully by Dixon from a ball that rose sharply to strike the shoulder of the bat.

Boyne Hill rallied at this point as their middle order took control. Dixon then took a wicket as the hosts were on 147-5.

With seven overs left Boyne Hill needed just 28 runs to win, but then the game took a sudden change in direction.

James Frost bowled Fernando thanks to an inside edge and then a few balls later removed U Steve for 1. Berryman reintroduced Guy Ashby to the bowling line-up and in a devastating spell he took three wickets for just six runs, bowling Boyne Hill out for 191 in 39 overs.
