SPINNER Ashton Agar, who played three matches for Henley earlier this season, was been named in the Australia side that took on England at Trent Bridge in the opening match of this year’s Ashes series.

Agar, a left arm spinner, played the first three matches of the season for Henley before joining up with the Australia A squad.

Last week the 19-year-old played for Australia against Worcestershire before receiving his first full cap on Wednesday.

During his short spell at Henley, Agar helped the Brakspear Ground side win all their opening matches of the season in Division 1 of the Home Counties Premier League, taking seven wickets in the process.

Against England in the first innings Agar failed to take a wicket, bowling seven overs, one a maiden, for 24 runs.
