Lions roar to victory

HURLEY LIONS U11s eased to a seven-wicket victory against SLOUGH U11s on Sunday.

HURLEY LIONS U11s eased to a seven-wicket victory against SLOUGH U11s on Sunday.

Having been sent into the field, Slough got off to a good start putting on 18 in 3.4 overs before Jack Hills destroyed the top order of the batting, shattering the middle stump on one occasion, with some quick, accurate bowling.

Having made early inroads, Slough never recovered as the Hurley Lions swarmed all over the middle order.

Hurley polished off the Slough tail, some sharp fielding precipitating some rash run outs, and with Slough failing to use up their quota of overs, a nominal target of 59 to win was set. Hills finished with figures of 3-10, Dyson 2-4 and Patrick 1-0.

In response Hurley got off to a poor start losing Samant (1), Howell (0) and Cooper (0) early.

Despite a nervy start, Louis Skelton with a run a ball 22 not out rescued Hurley from the depths of 16-3. Joined by Jack Hills, with a 15 ball 28 not out, the duo took Hurley to their total with plenty of overs to spare.
